Teeny Tears

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to make some of these beautiful, little bereavement diapers for 'Teeny Tears'.  Many still born babies are too small for even the smallest diapers that the hospital provides.  I love that there is a group willing to provide the hospitals with these adorable, handmade diapers for little angels.  We received some of these little diapers for Jackson.  It was our only opportunity to put a diaper on our baby boy.  It meant so much to me to know that others had lovingly made diapers that fit him perfectly.  And with so many different styles and colors to choose from, I felt like I was able to 'shop' for my baby boy which is something I didn't think I would have the opportunity to do.  We were able to bury him in one and we have the others as precious keepsakes.  My kids were each given one to remember their baby brother too.  It was very comforting in our family's time of need to receive these special gifts.
I knew of others that have gotten involved with this group, but I didn't know where to start.  Last week I found out that my stake is going to do a Relief Society service project each month and the first one was this service for 'Teeny Tears'.  I really feel like it was meant to be!  I know this is a group I need to be a part of.  I can't wait to help make more of these special diapers for other precious angel babies.
'Teeny Tears' is always looking for others who are willing to help.  Donations of soft, flannel fabric are always appreciated, or you can help make the diapers!  I am not much of a sewer, but I was able to trim some diapers after they were sewn and flip them right side out to be ironed and finished off.  It was really easy and a special experience.  I plan on making many more in the future!

What a neat service project your RS is doing! I love Teeny Tears diapers, especially how each one can look so different with all the adorable fabric out there.
