Keepsake Envelopes

I had the wonderful opportunity last week to attend 'Women's Conference' at BYU and be part of a service team making these adorable 'Keepsake Envelopes'.  They will be donated to several local hospitals and will be given to families who have lost a baby to store special keepsakes and documents in.  I was SO excited to be part of this team because we received one of these envelopes last summer when we lost Jackson and I had no idea where it came from.  I could tell that it was hand stitched and specially made and donated, but I didn't know from where.  It was so neat to be able to make some more and teach other women how to make them so that other families can benefit from such a wonderful gift!
I was asked to be part of the team by my new 'angel mama' friend, Sara, who was asked to head this committee this year.  It was so much fun being able to work with all these awesome ladies for such a good cause.  I helped out at our booth on Friday.  We handed out the envelopes to women who wanted to work on a service project while they listened to some of the awesome classes at the conference.  It's such a fun, easy way to get some great service done that will benefit so many families!
On Thursday I was actually able to attend some classes myself which was a great experience too.  It was such an amazing two days!  I had so much fun and I really want to go again next year!

We were able to finish a little less than 200 envelopes!  Here they are all boxed up and ready to be donated!

Here is the keepsake envelope that I was given last year at the hospital.  I have lots of special things stored in it, like Jackson's little outfit and stuffed lamb.  I love having such a cute place to keep his little things.  This envelope has meant a great deal to me!
I had so much fun and I definitely want to go again next year!

These envelopes are really easy to make for anyone that is interested.  I found a link to the instructions here: Keepsake Envelope Instructions

What a neat way to spend women's conference! Do they do this project every year? I definitely want to help out next year.
