On Mother's Day we had a picnic at the cemetery by his spot. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time! We also had the chance to release a butterfly by his grave. A dear friend of mine gave us a caterpillar a few weeks ago. She knows how much I love butterflies and the special meaning we associate with them and Jackson. We got to watch it eat and grow and finally build it's cocoon. On Mother's Day we woke up and it had turned into a butterfly! It was perfect timing! It was such a special experience for all of us!
We let it go next to Jackson's headstone at first. It actually hung out there for a while. It was kind of neat to see it linger there for so long.
The kids took turns letting it sit on their fingers. They thought it was so much fun!
Finally it was ready to fly away on it's own across the cemetery. It was such a special experience for our family!

That is one of the most beautiful headstones I've ever seen. I love all the different things you captured in it that show what a special perfect son you have. Glad it got set before Memorial Day too. I love the butterfly release. Beautiful post.
